Gamecock Club Renewal Day Friday, January 31
Jan. 28, 2014
The Gamecock Club will be rolling out the “garnet carpet” for its members on renewal day, Friday, January 31. Members planning to renew in person are invited to visit the Gamecock Club on the first floor of the Rice Athletics Center, located at 1304 Heyward Street in Columbia, between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.
“Renewal Day is a very important and exciting day in Gamecock Athletics,” said Patrick McFarland, Director of the Gamecock Club. “Our goal is to continue to grow the Gamecock Club and provide our Gamecock student athletes everything they need to compete in the SEC and succeed in the classroom. We look forward to welcoming back our Gamecock Club members for 2014!”
Members will be treated to popcorn, soft drinks, and highlights of the 2013 football season as Cocky and Athletics Department personnel distribute “I Renewed” decals. Firehouse Subs will also be on hand to give away free sub cards to all in-person renewals.
Visitors are encouraged to park in the Athletics Village Parking Garage on Heyward Street. Renewals may also be submitted by calling the Gamecock Club at (803) 777-4276 or by visiting GamecocksOnline.com/GamecockClub.
The Gamecock Club was founded in 1940 and was originally known as the BAM Club (Buck a Month). The Gamecock Club has experienced tremendous growth the past two years, setting all-time membership records in 2012 with over 15,000 members and again in 2013 with over 16,800 members. Due to the generosity of Gamecock Club members, over 500 student athletes have been provided the opportunity to succeed on and off the field by furnishing the means necessary to provide athletic and academic support through scholarships. Gamecock Club members have provided over $100 million over the past three years.
