Gamecock Equestrian Ranked No. 1 for 11th Straight Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina equestrian team is ranked No. 1 for the 11th straight week in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) rankings, it was announced today. The Gamecocks have been ranked No. 1 since Dec. 2, after setting a program record with six wins during the fall semester.
Carolina (8-2, 2-2 SEC) is on a four-meet winning streak and coming off a 10-9 win at then-No. 6 Georgia on Saturday. The Gamecocks became the first opponent ever to win three straight meet over the Bulldogs at the UGA Equestrian Complex.
The Gamecocks return to action Feb. 22, when South Carolina hosts No. 10 Texas A&M at One Wood Farm in Blythewood. Carolina’s home finale will be a week later on Mar. 1 for the team’s annual Equifest Kids Day, when the Gamecocks host No. 3 Auburn. Both meets begin at 10 a.m. and admission to all equestrian meets is free.
South Carolina will host the 2014 SEC Championships, Mar. 28-29 in Blythewood.
