Prior to the 2013-14 season opener versus Longwood, junior Tyrone Johnson was granted a waiver from the NCAA to compete immediately. An instant leader, the transfer from Villanova led the team with both his voice and his play on the court after sitting out the previous season. But on Jan. 15, 2014, he suffered a fracture to the fifth metatarsal in his right foot at Texas A&M. The last edition of Gamecock Confidential for the season follows Johnson through his journey of taking over as a leader on a new team, what he has gone through during the rehab process and his outlook heading into next year.
