COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina men’s golf team is ranked No. 22 in the Golf World/Nike Coaches’ Poll, Golf World announced Wednesday.
After falling out of February’s poll, the Gamecocks played their way back into this week’s top 25 by recording finishes of third, third, first and second in their first four tournaments of the spring. South Carolina finished runner-up at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate on Tuesday with a total of 855 (-9). The second-place finish is South Carolina’s seventh-straight finish of third or better, which is the longest stretch of top-three finishes in school history.
The Gamecocks will close out regular-season play on April 5-6 at the Augusta State Invitational. The 54-hole event will be held at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
