COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Southeastern Conference has announced that South Carolina will have two of its games air on the SEC Network this fall. The first will be Carolina’s SEC opener on Sept. 21 at Auburn at 1 p.m., ET. The second contest to air is a home matchup with Florida on Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.

The SEC Network, a new 24/7 sports network launching August 14 and operated by ESPN, will elevate the Southeastern Conference soccer programs with unprecedented national television coverage. The SEC Network alone will air a combined 30 live women’s soccer games in its debut year.

“These schedules reflect the breadth of exposure that our student-athletes will receive in the SEC’s Olympic sports on the SEC Network,” said Commissioner Mike Slive. “It’s indicative of the full array of sports and unprecedented number of televised events SEC fans will enjoy throughout the athletic year.”

The 30 games scheduled by the SEC and ESPN include:

  • 25 Women’s Soccer games on SEC Network
  • 5 Women’s Soccer games on ESPNU

For the first time, SEC soccer will have a consistent television series, airing every Thursday at 7 p.m., beginning Aug. 22 through the regular season, with additional matchups on Sundays. The SEC Network will also televise the First Round, Quarterfinal and Semifinal rounds of the SEC Soccer Tournament.

An additional slate of games, to be announced at a later date, will be carried on the SEC Network’s digital platforms. All SEC Network and ESPNU games will be available on WatchESPN.

South Carolina opens the 2014 season on the road at East Carolina on Aug. 22, before returning to Columbia for five straight matches beginning on Aug. 24 as the squad hosts Samford at 6 p.m.
