COLUMBIA, S.C. – University of South Carolina head men’s basketball coach Frank Martin announced on Tuesday that incoming freshman guard Shamiek Sheppard has suffered an ACL tear in his right knee and is expected to miss the 2014-15 campaign. Sheppard will undergo surgery for the torn ligament this week in Columbia.

“We feel awful for Shamiek with his injury,” Martin said. “He has worked so hard to put himself in position to play at South Carolina. We look forward to supporting him through his surgery and rehab this season.”
