COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina equestrian team released its 2014 Back-to-Back SEC Champions commemorative poster on Wednesday evening. The Gamecock equestrian team became the first University of South Carolina team to win two straight SEC titles when the Gamecocks defeated No. 2 Georgia in the championship meet on March 29 in Blythewood.
“This is a special poster to commemorate a special moment in our team’s history,” South Carolina head coach Boo Major said. “Getting to do this two years in a row, I think our girls enjoy all of the fun things that come with winning championships – special posters, championship rings, getting recognized on the field during the biggest home football game of the year. It’s been a lot of fun, but it’s time to turn the page to the new season and see what we can do this season.”
This year’s commemorative poster features:
• the official championship team photo
• custom back-to-back SEC Champions logo
• Johnna Letchworth (SEC Horsemanship Rider of the Year)
• Katherine Schmidt (SEC Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Year, SEC Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Year, NCEA First Team All-American in equitation over fences, NCEA First Team All-American in equitation over fences)
• Boo Major – National Coach of the Year and SEC Coach of the Year
• Alison Ceresani and Amber Henter – 2013-14 team captains
The posters will be available for free at all of South Carolina’s home meets, including the home opener vs. No. 1 Georgia on October 3. The Gamecocks 2014-15 schedule poster, will also be available for free at every home meet, and it is also available now in the GamecocksOnline Poster Store.
