COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s soccer (8-1-0, 1-0-0 SEC) stayed at the No. 14 spot in this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women’s Rankings. The Gamecocks also came in at a program-high No. 5 in the first edition of the NCAA’s Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) report released Monday evening.

South Carolina is one of four SEC teams in the top 25 along with No. 7 Florida, No. 10 Texas A&M and No. 22 Georgia.

In the other polls, the Gamecocks fell a spot to No. 12 in TopDrawerSoccer.com’s poll and climbed three spots to No. 20 in Soccer America.

On Sunday, South Carolina opened SEC play with a 2-1 overtime win at Auburn. Sophie Groff converted a penalty kick in the 86th minute and the Tigers equalized just minutes later in the 89th. Stevi Parker delivered the golden goal in the 100th minute for the conference win.

The Gamecocks return to The Graveyard this Friday to open the home SEC slate against Missouri at 6 p.m. Friday’s contest is the first half of a doubleheader with the men’s soccer team taking on Marshall just after. On Sunday, South Carolina welcomes No. 22 Georgia at 1 p.m.
