CAMDEN, S.C. — The 10th-ranked South Carolina men’s golf team posted a two-round total of 572 (+12) to finish Saturday in second place at the Camden Collegiate Invitational at Camden Country Club.

The Gamecocks carded a 288 (+8) in the first round and a 284 (+4) in the second round to finish the day seven strokes back of tournament leader Wofford. The Terriers have a total of 565 (+5) after shooting rounds of 284 (+4) and 281 (+1).

Radford is in third with a total of 573 (+13), followed by Furman (574) and USC Aiken (577).

Junior Will Starke led the Gamecocks with rounds of 73 (+3) and 68 (-2) to finish the day in a tie for seventh with a total of 141 (+1).

Senior Caleb Sturgeon is in position for a top-20 finish as he carded rounds of 69 (-1) and 73 (+3) to close out the day in a tie for 12th with a total of 142 (+2).

Junior Matt NeSmith and junior Sean Kelly, who is playing as an individual, are in a tie for 18th with a total of 144 (+4). NeSmith shot rounds of 73 (+3) and 71 (+1), while Kelly turned in a pair of 72s.

Sophomore Ben Dietrich, who is also playing as an individual, is tied for 42nd with a total of 148 (+8) as he shot rounds of 72 (+2) and 76 (+6).

Senior Blaine Woodruff carded a 77 (+7) and 72 (+2) to finish in a tie for 50th with a total of 149 (+9). Making his Gamecock debut, freshman Kennan Huskey shot 73 (+3) and 77 (+7) to finish tied for 57th with a total of 150 (+10), while junior Brendan Gramley is tied for 78th with a total of 161 (+21) after shooting an 84 and 77 as an individual.

Wofford’s Brannon Hudson leads the tournament with a total of 130 (-10).

Round Changer
Starke closed strong in the second round, shooting a 2-under 33 on the back nine to get into the clubhouse with a 68.

Notable
• The Gamecocks led the field in pars with 114.
• South Carolina finished the day second in par-3 scoring with an average of 3.20 (+10).
• The Gamecocks played the par 5s at 7-under.
• Starke is tied for second for most pars with 25.
• NeSmith recorded an eagle on the par-5 seventh.
