In the thrilling 3-2 win over the Gators, Savannah McCaskill doubled her season goal total, netting a pair of tallies, including the 89th minute game-winner, Thursday night. McCaskill won the match on a bouncing header off a corner kick service from Chelsea Drennan after scoring her first goal of the night in the 34th minute. McCaskill has posted three of her four goals in conference play and is now tied for the team lead in both goals (4) and points (11). The win over Florida was South Carolina’s first victory over a top-5 team since a 1-0 win at No. 1 North Carolina in 2007 and was the second-straight Gamecock win over the Gators, a program first. McCaskill became the first Gamecock to earn multiple SEC Freshman of the Week honors after receiving recognition from the league office for her performance last week.
