COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina men’s golf team is ranked No. 13 in the final Golf Coaches Association of America Coaches Poll of the fall, the GCAA announced Friday.
The Gamecocks had another successful fall season, recording three top-five finishes in four events, including two tournament wins. Carolina has now finished in the top five in 12 of its last 15 events dating back to last season. The two tournament victories gave head coach Bill McDonald 11 for his career. He is now the winningest coach by tournament victories in school history.
Carolina is also ranked in the top 25 in two other polls, ranking No. 9 in the Golfstat Relative Rankings and No. 18 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.
The Gamecocks will open their spring schedule at the Bayou City Collegiate Championships on Feb. 20-22 at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.
