COLUMBIA S.C. — With its spring season set to get underway on Feb. 20, the ninth-ranked South Carolina men’s golf team will be introduced at next Tuesday’s South Carolina-Tennessee men’s basketball game, which is slated to tipoff at 9 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena.
The team will be introduced to the crowd on court during halftime. Fans will have a chance to meet the team prior to the game, as the golfers will sign posters on the concourse beginning at 8 p.m. The team will also participate in a T-shirt toss during the final media timeout of the game.
“It will be a thrill for our golf team to be recognized at the Tennessee game on Tuesday as everyone associated with the Carolina golf program is really excited about how both our men’s and women’s basketball programs are playing this year,” South Carolina head coach Bill McDonald said. “We will bring the noise and the spirit and cheer our guys on to what we hope is another conference win.”
The Gamecocks head into their spring season with plenty of momentum after recording three top-five finishes in four fall events, including two tournament wins. Carolina has finished in the top five in 12 of its last 15 events, including five tournament wins. The Gamecocks open their spring schedule at the Bayou City Collegiate Championships on Feb. 20-22 at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.
