COLUMBIA, S.C. — Four South Carolina men’s golfers are set to open play at the Savannah Quarters Individual Intercollegiate on Monday on the Greg Norman Signature Course at Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, Ga.
Senior Blaine Woodruff, juniors Sean Kelly and Brendan Gramley and freshman Keenan Huskey will represent the Gamecocks at the 54-hole event, which is not a team tournament and will only have an individual champion. The golfers will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
All four golfers played in at least one tournament for Carolina in the fall. Kelly played in three events, with his best finish being a tie for 20th showing at the Camden Collegiate Invitational to wrap up the fall. Woodruff, Huskey and Gramley all played in their first tournament of the fall at the Camden Collegiate Invitational, finishing tied for 26th, tied for 39th and tied for 80th, respectively.
As a team, the Gamecocks had an outstanding fall season, recording three top-five finishes in four fall events, including two tournament wins. Carolina has finished in the top five in 12 of its last 15 events, including five tournament wins.
First-round play begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Monday. Live scoring is not available for this event.
