Senior Aleighsa Welch averaged 10.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in leading South Carolina to its first SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament championship last week. The Gamecocks won three games in as many days behind the energy and effort of Welch, whose double-double against LSU helped South Carolina overcome a tough first half in the semifinals to advance to the first title game in program history.
