COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina sand volleyball team moved up three spots to No. 17 in the DiG Magazine Collegiate Sand Volleyball Poll release Monday.

Carolina made the jump after going 4-1 in dual play at the Gamecock Invitational over the weekend. The Gamecocks opened the event last Friday with wins over Carson-Newman (5-0) and Arizona State (4-1). Carolina defeated Tulane 3-2 on Saturday before falling to Florida State, 4-1, later that night. The Gamecocks then wrapped up the weekend with a 4-1 victory over UAB on Sunday.

The Gamecocks will close out their home slate this weekend as they host the Palmetto Invitational. Carolina will face No. 2 Pepperdine on Saturday (11 a.m.) and No. 4 Florida International on Sunday (11 a.m.). Pairs bracket play will also take place both days at the Carolina Sand Volleyball Complex.
