COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina men’s golf team is ranked No. 4 in the Golfstat Relative Rankings released on Wednesday.

The Gamecocks moved up one spot in this week’s rankings after winning the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate title by 11 strokes on Tuesday with a 54-hole total of 838 (-26). The win is Carolina’s fifth this season, which is a school record. Junior Matt NeSmith claimed medalist honors at the event by winning a three-hole playoff after finishing the final round in a three-way tie for first with a total of 205 (-11).

Carolina remains the highest ranked SEC school in the rankings and is one of four league schools in the top 25. Vanderbilt is ranked No. 6, followed by LSU (No. 7) and Auburn (No. 13).

The Gamecocks will return to action on April 17-19 at the SEC Championship. The 54-hole event will be held at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Ga.
