COLUMBIA, S.C. – After capturing a second-place finish at the SEC Championship for the second-straight season, South Carolina women’s golf stayed at No. 2 in this week’s Golfstat Relative Rankings released on Wednesday.

The Gamecocks weathered a wet, messy weekend at the Greystone Golf and Country Club in Hoover, Ala., at the conference event. After the first round, South Carolina was tied for fifth, but led by sophomore Katelyn Dambaugh’s second-round 65 (-6) that tied the program and SEC Championship record, the Gamecocks produced their lowest team round of the season (280, -8) to move into contention. South Carolina pulled with two strokes of eventual champion Texas A&M on Sunday’s back nine, but could not overcome the Aggies. Senior Justine Dreher and Dambaugh finished tied for fourth at 2-under (212).

The NCAA Regional selections will be announced on Mon., April 27, at 7 p.m. on the Golf Channel. Competition at the four regional sites is set for May 7-9.
