AIKEN, S.C. — South Carolina rising senior Sean Kelly carded a final-round 71 (+1) to finish tied for third at the 40th Palmetto Amateur on Saturday at the historic Palmetto Golf Club.

Kelly wrapped up the 72-hole event with a total of 277 (-3), including rounds of 71, 68 and 67 on the first three days. He finished five strokes back of tournament champion Ben Schlottman, who won with a total of 272 (-8).

A native of Staten Island, N.Y., Kelly tallied one birdie and two bogeys to go along with 15 pars on Saturday.

Kelly was a regular in the Gamecock lineup during the 2014-15 season as he played in 11 tournaments, finished the year with a stroke average of 72.71 and recorded five top-20 finishes. His tie for 20th finish at the NCAA Bremerton Regional helped Carolina finish second and advance to the NCAA Championship for the third-straight year.
