COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina men’s basketball team will once again this summer hold the “8K In 8 Days” campaign, which is aimed at reaching 8,000 fans in the greater Columbia community and the State of South Carolina with community outreach over the course of eight days, July 17-24.

South Carolina finished the 2014-15 season ranked 33rd in the nation in attendance (11,520), up eight spots from the previous year. That number ranked fourth in the SEC and was the highest average attendance for the Gamecocks since the 2009-10 campaign. Since head coach Frank Martin’s arrival in Columbia, attendance has increased by 23 percent.

“Last year’s ‘8K In 8 Days’ campaign was a great success and our team was able to reach out to so many within our community and the State of South Carolina,” Martin said. “Our fans have shown our team amazing support and we continue to climb the charts in national attendance. We have great events lined up for year two of the campaign and our team is excited for the chance to spend time giving back to those who support us.”

The “8K In 8 Days” campaign kicks off on Friday, July 17, when the Gamecocks visit Greenview Park for “Moving and Learning With Gamecock Basketball” in conjunction with the City of Columbia. The squad will send letters to season ticket holders over the weekend, before a visit to Blythewood Middle School for the Richland County Sheriff Department’s “Character Camp” on Monday, July 20. Two events highlight the lineup for Tuesday, with stops at the USC Freshman Orientation and the Dorn Veteran Affairs Medical Center.

Epworth Children’s Home will visit Colonial Life Arena on Wednesday, July 22, for an event with the Gamecocks, before team members make another stop at Freshman Orientation on Thursday. The campaign caps with two stops in Columbia, the first, a visit to Fort Jackson for “Operation Hoops For Troops’ Kids” at Camp McCrady on Thursday and a meet-and-greet with My Brother’s Keeper on Friday.

Season ticket prices for the upcoming season remain unchanged, with full season packages starting at $90. Like last season, fans can purchase lower level season tickets for $260 (Gamecock Club membership required for sections 104-106, 113-115), the Coke Family Sections are available for $600 (four tickets) and upper level tickets are available for $200 (no Gamecock Club membership required). End zone seating in the upper level is priced at four seats for $360. University Faculty/Staff members receive a 20% discount on lower level and upper level ticket prices.
