Porsche European Open Leaderboard

BAD GRIESBACH, Germany – South Carolina men’s golf standout Will Starke carded a 1-under (70) in the second round of the Porsche European Open on Friday at Golf Resort Bad Griesbach. The Chapin, S.C., native, who is competing this week as an amateur, sits at 1-over through two rounds.

Starke moved up the leaderboard and under par (-1) for the tournament early on Friday after collecting birdies on each of his first three holes. Bogeys on No. 4 and 5 pushed his score back to over par, and he made the turn at 1-over (36) following a double bogey on No. 8. Starke finished strong over his final nine holes, recording six pars to go along with birdies on No. 12 and 16.

The South Carolina senior’s two-day total of 1-over topped Arizona State’s Max Rottluff (2-over), the other collegiate amateur in action at the tournament. Charl Schwartzel and Graeme Storm sit atop the leaderboard at 10-under, and the projected cut currently stands at 2-under.
