COLUMBIA, S.C. – Three Gamecocks made the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer All-Southeast Region teams, the group announced on Wednesday.

Gamecock junior midfielder Danny Deakin gained a first-team spot, while junior defender Koty Millard earned second-team honors. Senior midfielder Jeffrey Torda garnered selection on the third team.

Deakin led South Carolina with 11 goals and 24 points and tallied the first Gamecock hat trick in 14 seasons. He ranked second in Conference USA in goals and third in points while tallying three game-winning goals. This goes with Deakin’s first-team All-C-USA honor announced in November.

Millard tied for the team lead with five assists and added a goal during the year. The Columbia, S.C., native’s move to defender coincided with the Gamecocks’ surge, as the team allowed just 15 goals in the final 16 matches. He also made the All-C-USA second team as a defender.

Torda ranked second on the team with five goals and 11 points while leading the way with four game-winning goals. Torda adds a fourth award to his docket from this season, joining his third-team All-C-USA nod, his C-USA All-Academic honor and his CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 certificate.

All three started all 21 matches and helped the Gamecocks to go 11-8-2 on the season and advance into the program’s 21st NCAA Tournament. The trio ranks as the most Gamecocks on an NSCAA All-Region squad since 2010, when Blake Brettschneider, Jimmy Maurer and Will Traynor all earned spots. Deakin, Millard and Torda mark the 48th, 49th and 50th Gamecocks all-time to earn NSCAA All-Region honors under Mark Berson, the NCAA Division I active win leader.
