COLUMBIA, S.C. –
The South Carolina men’s soccer team, looking to build on last year’s NCAA Tournament run and its final national ranking of 22nd, retakes the pitch for a full slate of exhibitions over the next month.

Four home dates are scheduled at Stone Stadium, with the Gamecocks testing their mettle against the USL’s Charleston Battery to start on Wed., March 16 at 6:30 p.m. On Sat., March 19, South Carolina hosts scrimmages against Wofford and Mercer beginning at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively. The busy week wraps up on Wed., March 23 with a home contest against Wingate, with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m.

The Gamecocks also twice play at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, first on Sat., April 2 against North Carolina at 3 p.m. The next weekend, the Garnet and Black take on two teams in Rock Hill, facing UNC Wilmington at 1:30 p.m. and Georgia State at 4:30 p.m.

The annual Alumni Game, pitting the current team against former players on the turf at Stone Stadium, is slated for 2 p.m. on Sat., April 16, closing out the spring.

Eight starters return from last year’s team that finished 22nd in the final rankings by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
