COLUMBIA, S.C. — After splitting their matches on the second day of the Gamecock Invitational, the South Carolina beach volleyball team is now 13-5 on the season.

The Gamecocks earned their sixth 5-0 victory this season when they defeated Carson-Newman to start the day. Sarah Blomgren and Aubrey Ezell put South Carolina on the board with a 21-18, 21-13 win over Shane Peters and Olivia Canales at No. 2. Jade Vitt and Delaney Wood followed with a 21-15, 21-11 victory at No. 4 over Natalie Harris and Kristina Hill.

Erin Neuenfeldt and Lista Darby clinched the match for Carolina when they defeated Megan Morris and Eileen Anderson in the No. 5 position.

At the top spot, Julia Mannisto and Shannon Williams downed Ally King and Katie Will 21-14, 21-8, while Macie Tendrich and Katie Reilly closed out the match with a 21-18, 21-13 win at No. 3.

Emma Lock and Anna Joy Baumann dominated in the exhibition match when they dropped Allie Foster and Hannah Robertson 21-7, 21-5.

South Carolina dropped their second match 5-0 to Jacksonville. Vitt and Wood lost 21-14, 14-21, 15-11 to Olga Nushtayeva and Shelby Babowicz at No. 4, while Blomgren and Ezell fell 21-17, 20-22, 15-12 to Kelly Koop and Mayara Prestes on the No. 2 court.

Hannah McMahon and Gabbi Nieto secured the match for the Dolphins when they defeated Neuenfeldt and Darby 16-21, 21-15, 18-16 in the No. 5 flight.

Mannisto and Williams fell 9-21, 21-19, 15-9 to Mackenzie Swan and Cristina Finan at the top spot, while Tendrich and Reilly lost 16-21, 21-19, 15-11 to Emily Laskelle and Katie Krawczyk at No. 2.

In the exhibition match, Lock and Baumann earned their second win of the day when they defeated Ashlyne Miller and Jizzy Gesualdo 21-15, 21-13.

The Gamecocks are back in action April 1-2 in Miami for the Surf and Turf Classic hosted by Florida International.
