PLUM, Pa. — University of South Carolina rising sophomore Ryan Stachler completed 10 holes on Thursday before play was halted for the day at the 116th U.S. Open. Midway through his opening round at Oakmont Country Club, Stachler is 5-over par.

Stachler opened his round on the par-4 1st hole and notched a par, but rain forced him off the course after just three holes. After two more delays, United States Golf Association officials suspended the round for good at 4:39 p.m. ET, more than seven hours after Stachler began his round.

Play is scheduled to resume at daybreak on Friday with Stachler playing the 11th hole. His second round scheduled to tee off at 2:42 p.m. ET on Friday, though that is likely to be delayed because of Thursday’s weather stoppages. Live television coverage on Friday begins at 10 a.m. ET on FS1 and 5 p.m. ET on FOX, and fans are encouraged to monitor USOpen.com for the latest information from Oakmont.
