PLUM, Pa. — University of South Carolina men’s golf rising sophomore Ryan Stachler finished his opening round at the 116th U.S. Open on Friday. After completing just 10 holes on Thursday because of rain delays, Stachler played the final eight holes today and shot 78 (+8).

Stachler opened his second day by making par on his first four holes and ended the day with two straight pars. He played the back nine in 38 (+3) after going out in 40 (+5) on Thursday.

Though the rains stayed away on Friday, the inclement weather from Thursday heavily influenced the second round schedule. Because of the changes, Stachler did not begin his second round on Friday.

Stachler and the remainder of the players yet to start their second round will be back on the course Saturday morning. The Alpharetta, Ga., native will tee off at 9:12 a.m. ET, and live television coverage is available beginning at 11 a.m. ET on FOX.
