COLUMBIA, S.C. – The third year of SEC Network coverage for volleyball was announced Tuesday morning, and the South Carolina program will be featured on national television at least six times for the upcoming season.
The first nationally broadcasted match will be the team’s conference opener, when it travels to Missouri on Wednesday, Sept. 21 for a 9 p.m. match on ESPNU. The following week, ESPNU will be on campus for the Gamecocks’ SEC home opener against Tennessee, which will also begin at 9 p.m. The team will close out a four-match home stand with a weekend of competitions on the SEC Network, starting Oct. 7 at home against Georgia at 7 p.m. before welcoming in Florida on Sunday, Oct. 9 at noon. The following Sunday, South Carolina’s road match at LSU will air live on ESPNU at 2 p.m., and closing out the national schedule will be a home match against Texas A&M on Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. that will go out on the SEC Network.
An additional schedule of matches will be carried on the SEC Network’s digital platform – SEC Network + – and will be announced at a later date. All SEC Network and ESPNU games will also be available on WatchESPN. Additionally, there will also be four open Wildcard slots at the end of the season that will be chosen at a later date.
The Gamecocks’ season begins Friday, August 26 with the College of Charleston Tournament. The team’s home opener will be the following Friday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m., with rival Clemson comes to town for the start of the Carolina Classic weekend tournament.
