COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina continues its cross country campaign on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. EDT in the Winthrop/adidas Invitational, held on the Winthrop Lake Course in Rock Hill, S.C.

The Gamecocks are fresh after winning the Division I portion of the season-opening Carolina Challenge two weeks ago. Senior Mary Reiser led the team in that meet with her 18:39.67 clocking, a solid outing in the first race of the year. Freshman Anna Kathryn Stoddard finished 10th among the collegiate competitors in the home meet, breaking 19 minutes in her debut for the Garnet and Black.

Three more Gamecocks are expected to compete in the 5K race on Winthrop’s campus after missing the lidlifter, including juniors Kaylee Wessel and Monica York, both of whom posted her personal-best 5K time in last year’s meet in Rock Hill.

The women’s race begins at 10 a.m. on the Winthrop Lake Course, which is near the Winthrop Coliseum, with an award ceremony following the event.
