O'Keefe Falls in First Round of Qualifying at ITA All-American Championships
Oct. 3, 2016
TULSA, Okla. – The Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships got underway for Carolina men’s tennis on Monday. The lone Gamecock in action was junior Harrison O’Keefe, who fell in the first round of qualifying singles to Virginia’s Luca Corinteli, 6-2, 6-3.
With the loss, O’Keefe has been eliminated from contention for the main draw. However, he will be back in action on Tuesday with at least one consolation match. The time and opponent for that match will be determined at the conclusion of Monday’s matches.
Looking ahead to Thursday, Gabriel Friedrich will play his first round match of the main draw against an opponent that is still to be determined. Additionally, Friedrich and O’Keefe will compete in the doubles main draw.
