PJ Dozier Named SEC Player Of The Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. – University of South Carolina sophomore guard PJ Dozier was named the SEC Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game in wins over Vermont and FIU last week. The honor is the first of Dozier’s career.

Dozier posted a career high 21 points, hitting a career high nine shots, in the Carolina victory over Vermont last Thursday, before following with another 20-point outing, scoring 20, in the win over FIU. Dozier hit 57.1 percent on the week, also averaging 6.5 rebounds, after pulling down six vs. Vermont and a team high seven vs. FIU. He also matched a career high with three 3s in the win over Vermont, and added two vs. FIU.

The Gamecocks take a break from game action due to final exams this week before traveling back to New York City to face Seton Hall in the Under Armour Reunion doubleheader at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 12. Tip time vs. the Pirates is set for 9 p.m. ET, with the matchup broadcast on FS1.
