COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina junior guard Kaela Davis has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 Team, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically and have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Davis, an integrated technology major, will now be placed on the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team Ballot. Academic All-Americans will be announced later this month.

Davis has emerged as one of Carolina’s top shooting threats in her first season as a Gamecock. The Suwanee, Ga., native ranks sixth in the SEC in 3-pointers made per game (1.8), and her 12.1 points per contest are the fourth-best mark amongst the Gamecocks. Davis has led the team in scoring three times in her junior campaign, including a 37-point effort in her Gamecock debut in Carolina’s season-opening win over then No. 7/6 Ohio State on Nov. 14. She has reached double-figures 14 times this season, and her 47 assists rank third on the team.

Davis and the No. 6/6 Gamecocks are back in action tonight at home against Auburn. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena, and the contest can be seen on SEC Network+ through WatchESPN.
