COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina volleyball program announced three upcoming spring tournaments on Wednesday. The Gamecocks head to Charlotte on Saturday for the first event, and will host a tournament at the Carolina Volleyball Center on April 2.

Saturday’s tournament will be held at the Carolina Union Volleyball Club’s facility in Charlotte. The one-day event will pit the team against Gardner-Webb at 10 a.m., ACC opponent Virginia Tech at noon, and East Tennessee State at 2 p.m. to close out the day.

The next weekend will feature a strong field of teams at the CVC. The Gamecocks will host Appalachian State at 10 a.m., then play Wake Forest and Duke for hour-long scrimmages before hosting conference rival Georgia at 3:30. The matches will all be free to attend and are open to the general public.

Rounding out the spring is a road tournament up at North Carolina State. The team will have one hour scrimmages with Campbell and North Carolina at 10 a.m. and 11, respectively. After a break, South Carolina will then take on East Carolina at 1 p.m. and then the host Wolfpack at 3.

The Gamecocks lost five seniors from 2016, but welcome back seven players who appeared in 20 or more matches to pair with a five-member signing class.

Be sure to follow the team’s progress this spring on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
