ANA Inspiration Tournament Central | Live Scoring

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s golf standout Katelyn Dambaugh will make her LPGA debut next week at the 2017 ANA Inspiration, the tour’s first major of the season. The 72-hole event takes place March 30 through Apr. 2 at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course of Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Dambaugh, Carolina’s career stroke average leader (72.65), is one of just six amateurs invited to compete in the tournament. The senior and Goose Creek, S.C., native is currently No. 7 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

“It’s just incredible, and everything I have done has paid off,” Dambaugh said. “I can’t wait to get out there and see what it’s like.”

Golf Channel will provide coverage of the four-day tournament, and live scoring is available at LPGA.com. The ANA Inspiration features a par-72 course that will stretch 6,763 yards next week. The event began in 1972 before becoming a major in 1983.

Dambaugh produced one of the finest seasons in program history as a junior last year en route to First-Team All-America honors from the Women’s Golf Coaches Associate (WGCA) and Golfweek. The 2016 ANNIKA Award runner-up posted the top score among Gamecocks in nine of Carolina’s 11 tournaments last year, and her 71.62 scoring average as a junior marked a school single-season record.

This season, Dambaugh continues to make history after carding the lowest 18-hole (64) and 54-hole (206) scores ever by a Gamecock during Carolina’s fall slate. Dambaugh’s 71.00 stroke average as a senior tops the Gamecocks and ranks 11th in Division I. She has boasted top-10 showings in five of Carolina’s first six events of the seasons, including runner-up honors at the 2016 Cougar Classic.

Dambaugh’s 13 career top-five finishes rank second in program history, and her 19 top-10 performances are one shy of the third-best total ever by a Gamecock.

The No. 10 Gamecocks will also be in action next week when they resume their spring slate at the 2017 Bryan National Collegiate, set for March 31 through Apr. 2. The 54-hole event will be contested at the Bryan Park Golf Course in Greensboro, N.C.
