No. 20 Gamecocks Face Final SEC Road Opponents

COLUMBIA, S.C. — No. 20 South Carolina men’s tennis team wraps up their SEC road competition this weekend as they face Tennessee Friday, April 7 in Knoxville, Tenn. and No. 13 Georgia Sunday, April 9 in Athens, Ga.

The Gamecocks (17-4, 6-2) added another league win and increased their SEC win streak to five with last Saturday’s 4-3 win over Alabama. The Gamecocks’ five consecutive SEC wins is a program best, one higher than the previous record of four.

GAMECOCK NOTABLES

  • South Carolina is 17-4 overall and 6-2 in SEC play this season.
  • The Gamecocks notched their fifth-straight SEC victory, a program best, with their 4-3 victory over Alabama.
  • In the rankings, Gabriel Friedrich comes in at No. 47 with Harrison O’Keefe moving into No. 69 in singles rankings.
  • The doubles pairing of O’Keefe and Yancy Dennis moved up 16 spots in the rankings to No. 31.
  • As a team, South Carolina is tied for third in the SEC.
  • O’Keefe leads the team with 16 singles victories and ties for the team lead with 14 doubles victories in dual play.
  • Freshman Paul Jubb stayed perfect in the spring, clinching Saturday’s match against Alabama with a 7-6, 7-6 victory in the No. 5 spot to stretch his dual play streak to 9-0.
