COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball is inviting fans to join its Community Champions day of community engagement at Hyatt Park (950 Jackson Ave.) on Sat., July 15. The National Champion Gamecocks will be on hand 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. working on landscaping, cleaning and painting projects to enhance the park. The community is welcome to help or just come to enjoy various gameday-style activities at the park.

In addition to joining any of the three community service stations, fans can enjoy bounce houses, music, a tattoo station and water stations. The Gamecocks and Food Lion will also provide free food to the first 500 fans to arrive at park.

Fans are encouraged to bring any small gardening shovels they have at home to use and a 6-pack tray of flowers to help with the landscaping station. They are also welcome to bring anything else that will help them enjoy a few minutes or a few hours in the park – folding chair, hat, sunscreen, blanket, etc.
