COLUMBIA, S.C. – Recent Gamecock women’s golf addition Lois Kaye Go is set to compete at the 115th North & South Women’s Amateur Championship this week at Pinehurst No. 2 in Pinehurst, N.C.

The five-day event features 90 players and gets underway Mon., July 10, with the first of two rounds of stroke play. Following Tuesday’s second stroke play round, the field will be cut to a 32-golfer match-play bracket. The round of 32 is set for Wednesday before the Round of 16 and quarterfinals take place Thursday. The final match will be contested on Saturday.

Go, who joined the Gamecocks in June after spending her freshman season at Boston College, is eligible to compete for Carolina this fall. The rising sophomore qualified for the 2017 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship (Aug. 7-13) after finishing atop her sectional qualifying site this past Friday, and she won the Women’s Porter Cup (June 7-9) last month.

Go paced the Eagles with a 72.29 stroke average last season and ended her freshman campaign with seven top-10 finishes. The 2017 All-ACC selection notched two collegiate victories, finishing atop the leaderboard at the 2016 Dartmouth Invitational and 2017 Lady EagleCat Invitational.

First-round action from Pinehurst No. 2 gets underway at 7 a.m. ET tomorrow, and fans can follow South Carolina women’s golf (@GamecockWGolf) for updates throughout the North & South Amateur.
