Jeff Crane has been promoted to Executive Associate Athletics Director at the University of South Carolina, announced Director of Athletics Ray Tanner.

In his 10th year at South Carolina, Crane has served Gamecock Athletics as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development since November 2012.

Crane will add the role of primary sports administrator for men’s basketball as well as other administrative duties.

“Jeff has done an outstanding job in his position leading our development staff,” said Tanner. “Jeff has earned his new role inside our department. He is one of the bright young stars in our profession.”

Under Crane’s leadership, over $100 million has been raised in the last three years for student-athlete scholarships and facilities. In addition, the Gamecocks have set fundraising records and reached an all-time high of 19,000 donors. Crane also led the development and execution of a seat donation plan that resulted in $7 million in new annual revenue for the program.

Crane joined the South Carolina Athletic Department staff in 2006 as the Director of Marketing. In that capacity, he was charged with developing and implementing season ticket and group sales, developing marketing and promotional plans for men’s and women’s athletics, and overseeing all elements of game atmosphere. In addition, he was responsible for a new marketing rights agreement resulting in $50 million in guaranteed revenue for the Gamecocks-a 150% increase over the previous contract.

Before his arrival at South Carolina, Crane directed the marketing efforts for TCU Athletics. He has both an undergraduate degree and MBA from TCU. He and his wife Allison have three children, sons Ford (9) and Crews (5) and daughter, Elle (5 months).
