SATURDAY PAIRS TOURNAMENT
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina beach volleyball team kicks off its fall exhibition schedule on Saturday, Oct. 14, when the Gamecocks host two conference rivals in an all-day pairs tournament. The event at Wheeler Beach begins at 10 a.m. and runs through the afternoon, admission is free.
The Gamecocks welcome in pairs for Georgia State and UNC Wilmington for the tournament. The format will be two-set matches to 21 across four courts, with a rolling schedule that features a new match every 45 minutes.
This will be South Carolina’s first competition since ending a historic 2017 season last spring. The Gamecocks won 23 matches and earned their first bid to the eight-team NCAA tournament field. Returning to the sand for spring 2018 are seven individuals who won 20 or more matches, and they will be joined by a four-woman freshman class and graduate transfer Leah Perri.
