Wilson Selected To Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 List

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina senior forward A’ja Wilson has been named to the Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 List, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced on ESPNU Monday night.
The 15-player final ballot for the prestigious honor will be revealed prior to the NCAA Tournament. Wilson, a finalist for the award in each of the two previous seasons, has been on the final ballot in each of the last three years.
The Hopkins, S.C., native has dominated on both ends of the court in her final season, ranking first in the SEC in points (22.7) and blocks (3.7) per game. Wilson has totaled a team-leading 15 double-doubles, including five against ranked foes, and she has led the Gamecocks in rebounding in 17 of her 20 outings this season. The two-time SEC Player of the Year is the only active player in the conference with 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.
No. 7/6 South Carolina (18-4, 7-2 SEC) returns to action tonight when it faces No. 2/2 Mississippi State (23-0, 9-0 SEC) on the road in Starkville, Miss. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. ET, and the game will air on ESPN2.
