Gamecock Signee Saxton Named To Atlanta All-Metro Late Season List

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball signee Victaria Saxton has been named to the late season Atlanta All-Metro High School Team, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Friday.

The forward is one of 15 girls named to the late season list. The final all-metro teams, Mr. and Miss Georgia, Metro Players of the Year and Metro Coaches of the Year will be announced in mid-March.

Saxton is the eighth-ranked forward and No. 50 overall prospect in the 2018 signing class. The Rome, Ga., native and three-time Atlanta Journal-Constitution First-Team AA All-State selection averaged 25.0 points and 13.5 rebounds to go with 4.5 blocks as a junior at Model High School. Saxton, who has also garnered GACA Class 2A-North Player of the Year honors, has led Model to a 20-3 record this season, including a 14-0 mark in regional play.

No. 7/8 South Carolina returns to action this weekend when it hosts Florida on Sun., Feb. 11. Tipoff from Colonial Life Arena is slated for 1 p.m. ET, and the contest will air on SEC Network.
