Feb. 20, 2018
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina sophomore golfer Lois Kaye Go is set to compete at the first-ever Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific Golf Championship this week in Singapore.
The 72-hole event will be contested at the Sentosa Golf Club and take place Feb. 21-24. Players from member countries of the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation were selected to play in the tournament based on the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
The winner of the tournament will earn invitations to play in two LPGA Tour major championships – the Ricoh Women’s British Open and the ANA Inspiration. This week’s medalist will also be invited to play in the HSBC Women’s World Championship.
Go grabbed her first career top-10 finish (T10) for the No. 6 Gamecocks earlier this month at the Florida State Match-Up after totaling a 214 (-2). The Cebu City, Philippines, native, who has played in each of Carolina’s five events this season, ranks second on the team with a 71.86 stroke average.
