Fisk And England U-20 Squad Set For La Manga Tournament

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s soccer rising junior Grace Fisk is set to compete for the England U-20 Women’s National Team this week at the La Manga Tournament in La Manga, Spain.
The Young Lionesses will play three matches in the tournament, opening the event against China on Thu., Apr. 5. England faces the United States on Sat., Apr. 7, before rounding out play against Norway on Mon., Apr. 9.
Fisk, a native of Bromley, London, was a finalist for the 2017 England Women’s Young Player of the Year Award after helping the Young Lionesses secure a berth in the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup at the European Finals last year. She served as team captain for England, which also notched a victory over Italy in its opening match at the event.
Fisk garnered 2017 SEC Defensive Player of the Year laurels in her first season with the Gamecocks, who set a program single-season record with 16 shutouts last fall. She led all Gamecock defenders with seven points and netted the game-winner in Carolina’s 2-0 victory over Florida in the NCAA Quarterfinals. Fisk, a semifinalist for the 2017 MAC Hermann Trophy, boasted two game-winning tallies in her sophomore campaign.
