May 18, 2018

COLUMBIA, S.C. — University of South Carolina men’s tennis senior Thomas Mayronne, was selected to the 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-District Men’s At-Large Team for District 4, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday.

Mayronne, a native of Monroe, La., was named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll as a freshman in 2015 and has earned SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll honors each of the past two years.

In addition to being named to the SEC Men’s Community Service Team for a third straight year, he was also chosen as a finalist for the 2018 Brad Davis Community Service Award.

CoSIDA’s Men’s At-Large Academic All-District Teams involve student-athletes from the sports of Fencing, Golf, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Rifle, Skiing, Swimming, Tennis, Volleyball, Water Polo and Wrestling.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be selected and announced in June.

A three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, Mayronne finished the 2017-18 season with a 22-15 singles record and a 17-12 doubles record to finish with 137 victories on his career.

Mayronne graduated earlier this month with a degree in sport and entertainment management, earning a cumulative grade point average of 3.89.
