Erika P. Goodwin is in her 12th year as Head Cheerleading Coach and Spirit Coordinator at the University of South Carolina. She coaches both the Coed and All Girl teams, and has led both to top 10 finishes for 11 consecutive years at the National Cheerleaders Association’s Collegiate National Championships. Highlights include a fourth place finish for Coed in 2008 in Division IA and a fourth place finish for All Girl in 2009, 2012 and 2014 for All Girl Division IA. Most recently, the teams finished fourth and fifth respectively in 2015.

Goodwin is a native of Columbia, S.C. A former Gamecock cheerleader and captain of the 1999 cheerleading team, Goodwin earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science specializing in Motor Development in 1999.

Goodwin earned her Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisville. A former Louisville cheerleader and a captain of the 2002 cheerleading team, Goodwin worked to combine her exercise science background with her cheerleading experience through writing an article explaining a one-year exercise training regimen for the college level cheerleader published in the December 2004 issue of National Strength and Conditioning Journal.

Goodwin lives in Lexington with her husband, Justin, and their three children, Logan, Dillon and Addisyn.
