South Carolina had four players recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

TEMPE, Ariz. — For the seventh-consecutive season, South Carolina men’s tennis was recognized as an ITA All-Academic team for achieving a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or higher (on a 4.00 scale), the ITA announced on Tuesday. The Gamecocks also had four players— Harrison O’KeefeThomas MayronnePaul Jubb and Thomas Brown — who were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

“Each of these guys has embraced our culture of being elite on and off the court. It’s great to see these guys recognized for their hard work,” remarked head coach Josh Goffi.

The Gamecocks’ four scholar-athletes was their most individual ITA academic honors since earning four back in 2011. South Carolina’s team accolades marked its 10th overall ITA All-Academic award.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1) be a varsity letter-winner, 2) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3) have been enrolled at his present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).

On the court, South Carolina earned its first back-to-back SEC winning seasons in program history after a 19-9 season with a 7-5 record in SEC play.
