Go to Compete with Philippines at 2018 Asian Games

Jakarta, Indonesia – The University of South Carolina will be represented later this week at the 2018 Asian Games when Lois Kaye Go competes with the Philippines when the competition starts this Thursday. 
 
Go, who will be junior this upcoming season, is coming off her first place finish at the 2018 Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open last week. Go finished at seven under par for the tournament, three strokes better than the runner up. Go finished the three-round tournament with scores of 68, 68 and 73.
 
The golf portion of the 2018 Asian Games will take place at Pondok Indah Golf Course, with both an individual and team competition. The individual event will be played over four rounds of 18 holes, stroke play. 
 
The team event will be played over 72-holes, stroke play, playing 18-holes per day. The winner of the team event is the team that returns with the lowest aggregate score. The teams will comprise of either two or three players. The total of the best two out of three scores daily will count as the team score. 
 
During her first season with the Gamecocks Go was a member of the Second All-SEC team, and earned SEC Academic Honor Roll honors. During the 2017-18 season she recorded the all-time sophomore scoring average at 72.45, and the fourth best single season scoring average.
