Gamecocks ranked No. 22 in Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll
Carolina one of nine SEC teams ranked in the top-25
NORMAN, Okla. — South Carolina returned to the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll this week, checking in at No. 22. The Gamecocks have competed twice this fall, finishing T-4th at the Carpet Capital Collegiate (Sept. 7-9) and ninth at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational (Sept. 14-16).
Oklahoma State, the reigning NCAA Champions, remain No. 1 receiving 15 of the 22 first-place votes. Carolina is one of nine teams from the Southeastern Conference ranked in the top-25.
The Gamecocks competed against seven teams ranked in the top-15 at The Farm and 10 teams ranked in the top-25 at Olympia Fields.
Carolina is headed north next week to take part in the Jack Nicklaus Invitational (Oct. 8-9) at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. It’s a new event in college golf that will feature both stroke play and match play.
