Dennis and Jubb Head to Tulsa for All-American Championships

COLUMBIA, S.C.- Paul Jubb, the 27th-ranked singles player in the country this preseason, and teammate Yancy Dennis head to Tulsa, Okla., this week as they represent South Carolina men’s tennis in the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s All-American Championships.  Dennis will compete in qualifiers which begin on Monday while Jubb receives a spot into the singles main draw which is set to begin on Thursday. 

Jubb and Dennis, the 49th-ranked doubles pair in the country, wlll also compete in doubles qualifiers.

Jubb, this season’s Carolina Region Player to Watch, will see his first collegiate competition of the season coming off of a summer in which he tallied a 22-2 record on the ITF Futures circuit in Europe.  Dennis comes into the week after a 2-2 weekend at the Gamecock Invitational to begin his fall tournament season.

The University of Tulsa is hosting the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s All-American Championship for the 14th straight season, with matches taking place on the courts of the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Qualifying singles and doubles will be held October 1-2, with main draw matches transpiring between October 4-8.

In addition to vying for the All-American national title, players will be competing to secure a berth into the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which takes place November 7-11, in Surprise, Arizona. Singles quarterfinalists, consolation singles champion and finalist, along with doubles semifinalists and consolation doubles champion and finalist advance to the end of fall national championship.
