No. 24 Gamecocks T-11th at Tavistock Collegiate Invitational
Scott Stevens is T-14th at 1-under through 36 holes
WINDERMERE, Fla. — No. 24 South Carolina posted a second round 298 (+10) on Monday at the 2018 Tavistock Collegiate Invitational. The Gamecocks sit T-11th with UCF at 17-over for the tournament heading into Tuesday’s final round.
“We played a reachable par-5 at 6-over today,” said head coach Bill McDonald. “That pretty much sums up what was a very frustrating front nine. We made up a few shots coming in and hopefully the guys can build off that for tomorrow.”
Senior Scott Stevens paced the Gamecocks again on day two with a 72 (E). The Chattanooga, Tenn., native sat 3-over for the day through 14 holes. He then birdied three of five holes to finish and get into the clubhouse at even par. Stevens is T-14th at 1-under for the tournament and seeking his second top-10 finish of the season (17th career). He led the team with four birdies in round two and is T-2nd in the field with 26 pars through 36 holes.
