Mayr Named to C-USA All-Academic Team
First time honoree boast 3.560 GPA as finance major
IRVING, Texas — Junior striker Luca Mayr was named to the 2018 InTouch Credit Union Conference USA Men’s Soccer All-Academic Team the league office announced on Monday. He’s one of 11 players selected to the team which recognizes excellence on the field and in the classroom.
Mayr, a first-time selection, boasts a 3.560 cumulative GPA as a finance major in the Darla Moore School of Business.
The three-year starter, who was a 2017 First Team All-C-USA selection, led Carolina in points (11) for the second consecutive season after scoring four goals with three assists. He also led the Gamecocks with 54 shots and 23 shots on goal.
Mayr has earned spots on the C-USA and SEC Academic Honor Rolls the past two seasons. He’s helped Carolina earn the highest team GPA in the league the past two seasons as well.
