Gamecocks Up to No. 18 in ITA Rankings
Carolina moves up 14 spots from last week's rankings after going 2-0 at home this past weekend.
COLUMBIA, S.C.- South Carolina men’s tennis (13-4, 3-4 SEC) moved up back into the nation’s top-25 this week, coming in at No. 18 in the latest Oracle/ITA Team Rankings, which were announced Tuesday. Carolina moves up 14 spots from the previous week and reaches the highest team ranking for the Gamecocks since spending a week at No. 16 back in 2017.
South Carolina went 2-0 at home last weekend with a 7-0 sweep over No. 40 Kentucky and a 6-1 win over No. 28 Vanderbilt. The Gamecocks have posted five wins over ranked opponents this season and get set to host seventh-ranked Texas A&M this Friday at 5 p.m. ET.
Carolina currently has two ranked singles players, fifth-ranked Paul Jubb and No. 93 Daniel Rodrigues, as well as the No. 63 doubles team in the country, Jubb and Raphael Lambling.
The Gamecocks are one of 12 total Southeastern Conference schools listed in this week’s ITA Top-50 and are one of six inside the top-25.
Carolina will host Texas A&M on Friday night before taking on LSU in its home finale on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
